Steve Allee will perform in conjunction with Indiana State University?s Jazz Artist Series Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Center for Performing Arts, located at the corner of Seventh and Chestnut streets.

Fall Graduate Art Exhibition Nov. 27-Dec. 1

The Indiana State University Department of Art is pleased to announce the Fall Graduate Thesis Exhibitions, on display from Nov. 27-Dec. 1 in the University Art Gallery. These presentations, featuring works by Stephanie Frasier, Karen Page and Elena Rakochy, will be the culmination of several years of artistic work and research at Indiana State and marks the beginning of their professional careers.

Varner Receives ACHE Service Award

Allen Varner, director of Continuing Education at Indiana State University, received the 2006 Meritorious Service Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education during the organization's national meeting recently in Los Angeles.

High school student gets a jump-start on research at ISU

A high school senior who wants to become a doctor and conduct medical research is getting a head start on those plans by conducting college level research in ISU's life sciences department. Working with Rusty Gonser, assistant professor of life sciences, Ethan Sperry - a senior at Terre Haute South Vigo High School - is examining the genetic make-up of white-tailed deer confined to a naval base in Maryland. Sperry's research has already resulted in several awards.

Geography, sociology professors part of multi-state effort to help greenhouse industry

Two Indiana State University professors in the areas of geography and sociology are part of a multi-state project aimed at helping the greenhouse industry. The project has resulted in greenhouses in northwestern Ohio forming clusters in an effort to remain competitive in a changing industry and one ISU professor says that model could be used in Indiana.

ISU motorsports interns bring good luck to GM

Four Indiana State University students hit the ground running at the Texas Motor Speedway as part of an intensive three-day internship experience Nov. 3 - 5 with General Motors and Chevrolet. Students primarily enrolled in the university's new minor in motorsports management participated in the job shadowing activities.
