“I am honored by this recognition as my experience at the University of Alabama was truly a formative period for my development and I feel tremendous gratitude for the wonderful professors that invested in me as a student. When I think about the total number of people who have received graduate degrees from the university, it is humbling to be among a small number commemorated for this celebration. I have been fortunate throughout my career to have wonderful mentors who continue to influence my actions today. It is these many lessons and experiences that I draw upon in service of our students and my colleagues at Indiana State,” states Daugherty.

Daugherty served on the faculty of Vanderbilt University, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Akron prior to joining Indiana State University. He is a distinguished scholar of consumer psychology and persuasion ranking among the top 1% of marketing researchers by ResearchGate (25+ million global community) with his work read by more than 180,000 scientists, and the top 1% of advertising researchers according to ScholarGPS, which classifies 30 million scientists across 55,000 institutions. He recently co-authored the textbook eMarketing: Digital Marketing Strategy, published by Taylor & Francis, that was recognized by the Cunningham Memorial Library’s Authors & Artists award from Indiana State University.

“I congratulate Dr. Daugherty on this distinguished and well-deserved achievement. His decorated research and academic achievements have not only garnered national recognition but have been a pillar of his leadership at the Scott College of Business, which is nationally recognized as one of the best business schools in the nation,” said Dr. Christopher Olsen, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Indiana State.
