In Loving Memory of Rex Kendall

Rex Kendall, 61, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on January 7, 2026, in Terre Haute. Rex was born in Florida on March 9, 1964, to Jimie and Nettie Jean Kendall.

Rex was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his Sister Virginia Stewart; Sister Kerrie Henderson (Jim); Niece Kailan Lilly (Joe), Emmalynn, Maverick; and Nephew Kyle Stewart (Breanna), Hadlee.

Indiana State University mourns the passing of Rex Kendall, the University’s Chief of Staff, who died Thursday at his home in Terre Haute.

Rex Kendall dedicated more than two decades of service to Indiana State University, leaving a lasting impact on the institution he loved and proudly called his alma mater. He was named Chief of Staff in 2022 and brought to the role a deep understanding of the University, a steady hand, and a genuine commitment to serving students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
