Indiana State University alumna and faculty member Jennifer Mullen has pledged $30,000 to create an endowed scholarship for students in the Scott College of Business who have received limited financial support but remain committed to pursuing degree completion.
Jennifer Mullen has earned two degrees from Indiana State, a bachelor’s degree in management information systems in 2001 and a master’s degree in communication in 2011. After graduating, Mullen worked in sales management before returning to the University to work in Admissions.
Mullen has extensive experience in higher education, holding positions at Indiana State University in the Office of Admissions, the Department of Communication, and currently as Senior Instructor in the Scott College of Business and Director of the Networks Program. She has also served as Director of Frontline Operations at IUPUI (now IU Indianapolis and Purdue University in Indianapolis) and as an Adjunct Instructor at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
In addition to her service to Indiana State, Mullen has been an active member of the Terre Haute community in roles such as Co-Founder and President of non-profit organization 12 Points Revitalization Initiative, Inc.; co-owner of Mullen Renovations, LLC; and on the Indiana State University Athletics Advisory Council.
During her time at Indiana State, Mullen has witnessed how even the smallest acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference. This shared spirit of giving fosters a lasting sense of philanthropy and creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond the initial gift.
“When I look back on my time as a student in the Scott College of Business, I see how they were building a foundation that prepared me for success and opened so many doors for opportunity,” said Mullen. “I want to leave a legacy of kindness and giving back that will make a difference for future generations.”
Mullen’s gift will create the Jennifer A. Mullen Endowed Scholarship for the Scott College of Business. To qualify, students must be studying a major in the Scott College of Business and not receive other substantial University-funded scholarships.
“Jennifer is an incredible mentor to so many within the Scott College of Business,” said Dean Terry Daugherty. “She cares deeply about student success and has an infectious energy that inspires. This scholarship is a meaningful reflection of her dedication for helping our students overcome barriers and develop as future business leaders.”
This scholarship will empower many Sycamores in the Scott College of Business to continue their education and complete their degrees at Indiana State University with confidence and support.
“Jennifer’s investment in student success reflects her belief in our mission and our students and exemplifies how alumni and faculty can shape the future of Indiana State through generosity and vision,” said Andrea Angel, CEO of the Indiana State University Foundation and Vice President of the Division of University Advancement. “We are deeply grateful for her meaningful contribution and inspiring dedication to our Sycamore community.”
