The university's sesquicentennial era started two years ago, marked by the Bayh College of Education's celebration event in 2015 and continuing with the College of Arts and Sciences' last year.
The Indiana State University School of Music will commemorate the generosity of Lt. Margaret "Peg" L. Boyce at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17 in the Landini Center for the Performing and Fine Arts.
The number of members went from 115 students two years ago to 180 this year. The band is made up of both music and non-music majors.
The goal is to accept bids by early February 2018 and start the two-year construction process thereafter.
The Salomon Chamber Orchestra give a performance hosted by the Terre Haute First Church of the Nazarene at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9.
John Beacon, Winna Diane Cargile, Bernie Carney, Elder Diggs and Eva Kor will be recognized at the Distinguished Alumni Awards at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Sycamore Banquet Center.
The official fifth-day count for total enrollment is 13,771 Sycamores, a 1.52 percent increase over last year's enrollment. The previous record was set in 2015 with 13,584 students.
