Indiana State University will celebrate its Winter 2025 Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 13, at the Hulman Center, honoring the academic achievements and perseverance of graduating Sycamores.
The day will feature two separate ceremonies:
- Graduate Ceremony: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
- Undergraduate Ceremony: 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Family members, friends, and the campus community are invited to join in recognizing the accomplishments of Indiana State’s newest graduates. The ceremonies will highlight student achievements, university traditions, and remarks from campus leadership.
A grand total of 410 Sycamore undergraduate students will walk the stage to receive their diplomas. Of the 410 undergraduate students, 382 are from Indiana, 27 are from other States and there is one international student from Australia. At the graduate level, a total of 209 students will receive their graduate degrees. There are 180 of the students from Indiana, 21 are from other States, and eight are international students from a variety of countries.
“Commencement is one of the most meaningful days of the year for our university,” said Indiana State University President Mike Godard. “It’s a moment to celebrate not only our students’ hard work and determination, but also the support of families, faculty, and staff who guided them along the way. Our graduates leave Indiana State prepared to make a difference in their communities and in their professions.”
The 2025 Commencement Speaker for the Graduate ceremony featured Indiana State University Alumna Dr. Katie Jenner, who is Indiana’s first Secretary of Education and the state’s top education official, Dr. Jenner is responsible for establishing a unified, student-centered vision across the full spectrum of education, from K-12 to college.
The speaker for the Undergraduate ceremony featured Lydia Cope, from Greenwood, Indiana, is graduating from Indiana State University with degrees in Aviation Management and Cybercriminology and Security Studies with a concentration in Cybercrime. A proud third-generation Sycamore, Ms. Cope has been a dedicated leader and advocate throughout her time at Indiana State University.
