To be considered for the President’s Scholarship, candidates must meet two of the following three criteria, a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.8 on a 4.0 scale, a score of 1270 SAT or 27 on the ACT, and be ranked in the top 10% of their senior class. For the Transfer President’s scholarship, candidates must have a cumulative transfer GPA of at least 3.7 on a 4.0 scale as well as a minimum of 24 completed, transferrable credits (non-remedial coursework).

These are immensely talented students who have earned their scholarships through a highly competitive process. We look forward to the leadership and energy they will bring to our campus and are excited that they have chosen to begin their professional journeys at Indiana State University”. The University Scholarship office in collaboration with the Honors College starts recruiting high achieving students immediately after their admission to the university. The winter interview day events are an important recruitment and yield opportunity for the incoming class.

2024-2025 President’s Scholars
Kamryn Blacklock, daughter of James and Amy Blacklock, is from Francisco, Indiana. She is a graduate of Wood Memorial High School and plans to pursue a degree in Baccalaureate Nursing from the College of Health and Human Services.
Maddy Brown is the daughter of Rachel and Ryan Brown, and is from Cedar Lake, Indiana. Maddy is a graduate of Crown Point High School, and is coming to Indiana State University to pursue her degree in Music Education through the College of Arts and Sciences.
Allie Dine, daughter of Susan and James Dine, comes to Indiana State University after graduating from Heritage Christian School. Allie is from McCordsville, Indiana, and plans to major in the field of Environmental Geoscience with a minor in Geology.
Lucas Fontanez, from Plano, Illinois, is the son of Sara and Chris Fontanez. He is a graduate of Plano High School and plans to major in Computer Science in the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology at Indiana State.
Hayden Gilbert is the son of Ian and Robyn Gilbert, and is from Shelburn, Indiana. Hayden is a graduate of North Central High School and plans to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering Technology from the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology.
Taci Hughes is the daughter of Shannon and Greg Hughes. She is from Dillsboro, Indiana, and graduated from South Dearborn High School. Through Indiana State University’s College of Health and Human Services, Taci plans to study Applied Medicine and has been admitted to the Pre-Physician Assistant program.
Payton Landis, from Linton, Indiana, is the daughter of Brittony and Weslyn Landis. She is a graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and plans to major in Management in the Scott College of Business at Indiana State.
Xavier Marnell is the son of Angela and Michael Marnell, and is from Corydon, Indiana. Xavier is a graduate of Corydon Central High School and is coming to Indiana State University to pursue his degree in Intelligence Analysis through the College of Arts and Sciences.
Addison McGowan, daughter of Jennifer and Darvin McGowan, is from New Castle, Indiana. She is a graduate of New Castle High School and plans to pursue a degree in Baccalaureate Nursing from the College of Health and Human Services.
Ellie Ray is the daughter of Andria and Brandon Ray. She is from Pendleton, Indiana, and graduated from Pendleton Heights High School with the intent to major in Elementary Education within the Bayh College of Education.
Makenzie Ray is the daughter of Ebony and Michael Ray. She is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from Ben Davis High School. She plans to pursue her degree in Interior Architecture Design through Indiana State’s Bailey College of Engineering and Technology.
Olivia Randall, daughter of Scott and Sonia Randall, is from New Albany, Indiana. She is a graduate of New Albany High School and plans to pursue a degree in Professional Aviation Flight Technology.
Bella Shadday is the daughter of Shelby Roberts and Joey Shadday. She is a graduate of Ben Davis High School, and is from Indianapolis, Indiana. At Indiana State University she plans to major in Aviation Management and pursue a minor in Language Studies.
Eli Shouse, from Terre Haute, Indiana, is the son of Arnick and Sharee Shouse. He is a graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School and plans to major in Finance at Indiana State University’s Scott College of Business.
Addison Shrader, from Westfield, Illinois, is the daughter of Robert and Jennifer Shrader. Coming to Indiana State from Charleston High School, Addison plans to pursue a degree in Baccalaureate Nursing from the College of Health and Human Services.
Erin Walters, daughter of Kimberly and Brian Walters, is from Seymour, Indiana. She is a graduate of Columbus East High School and plans to pursue a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice within the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University.
Autumn Williams is the daughter of Renecia Williams, and is from Crown Point, Indiana. Autumn is a graduate from Merrillville High School and plans to pursue a degree in Baccalaureate Nursing from the College of Health and Human Services.
Sky Wood is the daughter of Jeff and Angela Wood. She is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from the Indiana Academy for Science. She will be majoring in Intelligence Analysis within the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University.

Cheyenne Crider is a Cybercriminology and Security Studies major from Winamac, Indiana. After obtaining her degree from Indiana State, she is interested in finding employment with the state or federal government; her career aspiration is to serve as a Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics specialist.
Ben Deckert, from Terre Haute, Indiana, is pursuing his degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Indiana State. After obtaining his degree he intends to pursue employment as a Corrections Officer, and later achieve his longer-term goal of finding a career with a federal government agency like the FBI or DEA.
Eve Frousiakis is a Psychology major from Delray Beach, Florida. She is pursuing her degree through Indiana State University’s College of Arts and Sciences in order to progress her goal of obtaining her Master’s Degree and becoming a certified Sports Psychologist.
Elijah McCauley is from Belleville, Illinois, and plans to study Applied Medicine at Indiana State University. This is one of the first steps in his plan to study medicine, and to ultimately be able to provide healthcare and advocate for healthcare reform in underserved areas.
