Faculty Artist Series features saxophonist

Paul Bro will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 in the Recital Hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts building.

Paul Bro, Indiana State University professor of music, will perform as part of the Faculty Artist Series at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 in the Recital Hall of the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts building.

This year's recital is entitled, Art of the Transcription and will feature works by Carl Nielsen, M. Williams Karlins, Rebecca Clarke, Anthony Lanman, Hilary Tann and Ellen TaaffeZwilich. Bro will be joined on stage by ISU faculty members Kurt Fowler on cello and Martha Krasnican on piano. Terre Haute composer Anthony Lanman will join the performance on electric guitar.

Bro has performed throughout the United States and Canada as well as in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain, Taiwan and Thailand. He is a member of the Chicago Saxophone Quartet, the Bro-Street Duo, the Bro-Fowler Duo and the Philharmonia à Vent. Bro is a co-founder with William Street and Jean-Marie Londeix of the saxophone research web site called SaxAmE.org (The Saxophone in American and Europe).
