Sycamores to Explore Global Sport and Culture in New Zealand and Australia

From March 4–15, 11 students and two faculty members from Indiana State University College of Health and Human Services will travel to New Zealand and Australia for an immersive study abroad experience examining the powerful intersection of sport and culture.

Representing sport management, kinesiology, communication, and sport communication, the group will explore how athletics shape — and are shaped by — national identity, tradition, and community life in Auckland, New Zealand, and Sydney, Australia.

Indiana State University Launches New Sport Communication Major

Indiana State University is proud to announce that the Indiana Commission for Higher Education has approved a new Bachelor of Arts in Sport Communication degree, which is now open for enrollment. This interdisciplinary program is a collaboration between the Communication Department in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Sport Management program in the College of Health and Human Services.

Indiana State University Receives a multi-million dollar gift from the Estate of Dr. Peggy Sankey Swaim to Enhance Medical Training

Indiana State University has received a transformative multi-million dollar donation from the estate of the late Dr. Peggy Sankey, a 1961 alumna, to its College of Health and Human Services and School of Nursing. The generous gift will purchase and install cutting-edge medical equipment, providing students with hands-on training on the same technology they will use in their professional careers. The donation will be placed in a previously established endowment to facilitate ongoing updates to the equipment as medical innovations emerge.
