Widow of Former Indiana State Professor Makes $100,000 Gift to Honor His Memory

Indiana State University alumna and widow of former faculty member Dr. William Harader made a $100,000 gift in support of the William H. Harader Memorial Scholarship to honor her late husband and to offer financial assistance to students studying political science.

“Bill was profoundly involved with Indiana State and cared deeply about political science and student success,” said the former Mrs. Harader. “It is my hope that this gift will carry forward his legacy by supporting students in their pursuit of academic and professional excellence.”

Indiana State Alumna Wins Prestigious Milken Educator Award

Indiana State University alumna and New Palestine Elementary Principal Kayleigh Fosnow received the surprise of a lifetime this morning at what she thought was a schoolwide assembly to welcome Governor Mike Braun and Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner. Instead, the event she helped plan was held in her honor! Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, traveled from California to announce Fosnow as Indiana’s recipient for the 2025-26 school year.

Indiana State University Alumnae Complete Orr Fellowship in 2025

Two Indiana State University alumnae are among the 53 high-achieving individuals celebrated for completion of the Orr Fellowship, a prestigious early career development program dedicated to cultivating the next generation of business and community leaders in Indiana.
 
Kaitlyn Atkinson, of Sullivan, Indiana, and Natalie Mauk, of Terre Haute, Indiana, both graduated in 2023 from Indiana State’s Scott College of Business with Marketing degrees. Shortly after graduation, they joined the 2023 cohort of the Orr Fellowship.
