A group of Indiana State University students spent their Spring Break gaining a global perspective on education through a faculty-led study tour in South Korea. Led by Drs. Malea Crosby and Yong Joon Park, the March 7-14, 2026 experience brought six students into classrooms, cultural landmarks, and universities across the country, offering a unique blend of academic and cultural learning.

Seven Indiana State University students in the Scott College of Business have earned Six Sigma Green Belt certifications as part of the course requirements for OSCM 445: Business Process Improvement during the Fall 2025 semester—an achievement that provides them with an industry-recognized credential in process improvement and operational excellence.

A student from Indiana State University is gaining national recognition for her early contributions to the design field.

Taylor Smith, a junior from Oak Park, Illinois studying Interior Architecture Design in the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, was recently featured by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) in an article highlighting former participants of the organization’s Design Your World (DYW) program and the paths they have taken in the design industry.

From March 4–15, 11 students and two faculty members from Indiana State University College of Health and Human Services will travel to New Zealand and Australia for an immersive study abroad experience examining the powerful intersection of sport and culture.

Representing sport management, kinesiology, communication, and sport communication, the group will explore how athletics shape — and are shaped by — national identity, tradition, and community life in Auckland, New Zealand, and Sydney, Australia.

The annual President’s Concert at Indiana State University brought together students, families, faculty, staff, and community members on Sunday, February 22, for an afternoon celebrating musical excellence inside Boyce Recital Hall at the Landini Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

Indiana State University alumna and widow of former faculty member Dr. William Harader made a $100,000 gift in support of the William H. Harader Memorial Scholarship to honor her late husband and to offer financial assistance to students studying political science.

“Bill was profoundly involved with Indiana State and cared deeply about political science and student success,” said the former Mrs. Harader. “It is my hope that this gift will carry forward his legacy by supporting students in their pursuit of academic and professional excellence.”

More than 275 students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members gathered at University Hall on Tuesday, January 17, for Indiana State University’s annual “State of the University” address. The event, hosted in the University Hall auditorium, highlighted the institution’s continued progress and future direction under the theme, “The State of the University is Strong.”
