On April 6, Indiana State University honored several students and organizations for their significant impact and work on campus at the Sycamore Leadership Awards ceremony. Indiana State University to Award $3,000 Scholarships in Addition to Automatic Admission with New State Degree Pathways

Indiana State University will offer automatic admission and a $3,000 scholarship to Indiana students who complete the newly created Enrollment Honors Plus Seal, part of the state’s redesigned high school diploma framework announced Wednesday by Governor Mike Braun.

The initiative reflects Indiana State’s commitment to recognizing academic achievement and reducing the financial barriers to higher education for Indiana families.

Indiana State University’s Seventh Annual Give to Blue Day Taking Place Wednesday, April 9, 2025

Indiana State University is getting ready for its seventh annual Give to Blue Day on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. On this day, the campus community, alumni, and supporters will come together to raise funds for Indiana State students and programs.

Events will take place across campus to encourage participation and philanthropy. Local businesses are also joining the effort by hosting special promotions and donating a portion of their proceeds to Indiana State. Many of these businesses are owned by proud Sycamore alumni, including:

Indiana State University’s Sycamore Bands marked a historic milestone March 28th as they celebrated their centennial anniversary. The event featured a Concurrent Resolution sponsored by State Senator Greg Goode and State Representative Tonya Pfaff which highlighted the profound impact the band has had on campus and across the state over the past century. 

 

Indiana State’s James Gustafson Earns Esteemed Georgetown Appointment as Royden B. Davis Visiting Chair in Iranian History

Indiana State University Associate Professor and Faculty Senate Chair James Gustafson will serve as the Royden B. Davis Visiting Chair in Iranian History at Georgetown University in Fall 2025. This highly acclaimed appointment is given to an internationally recognized scholar who trains Georgetown students in foreign affairs, governmental service, and the humanities. 

Indiana State Alumni Make a Gift in Support of Sycamore Women's Basketball

Indiana State University alumni Charlie and Terri Lentz have generously made a gift through their estate plan to the women’s basketball program in support of advancing the development of student-athletes and enhancing the team’s resources to achieve excellence on the court and in the classroom.

Indiana State University Launches Exhibition with Submissions from Student Artwork Competition

The Yang Family University Art Gallery at Indiana State University has launched its Annual Juried Student Exhibition, which celebrates a selection of work by undergraduate and graduate students from any major. As part of a competition with guest jurors, this exhibition showcasing a wide array of techniques is available from March 17 to April 11, 2025, with a public reception on April 3 from 4–6 p.m.

Indiana State University Included in Givzey’s Version2 Third Cohort, Revolutionizing Fundraising Forever with Fully Autonomous Fundraising

Version2, Givzey’s AI R&D lab researching, developing, and accelerating the deployment of the world’s first fully autonomous fundraiser, announced the third cohort of nonprofit Innovation Partners to introduce the Virtual Engagement Officer (VEO) to donors. Indiana State University is the first university in Indiana to partner with Givzey and is among 12 other organizations in its cohort.
