Indiana State University’s Division of University Advancement announced a remarkably bold year of fundraising for fiscal year 2024, having raised more than $20 million for the fourth consecutive year.
Generous giving from donors allowed the university to reach and surpass the $100 million milestone for the Be So BOLD campaign.
“We are beyond inspired and encouraged by the generosity our donors have shown us throughout this campaign,” said Andrea Angel, Vice President of University Advancement and CEO of the ISU Foundation. “Because of the support we have received, we are able to continue creating more opportunities for our students and faculty that enhance our university and make it the extraordinary institution it is today.”
The Be So BOLD campaign was launched into its public phase in September of 2022 and has gained traction in both local and national communities. The campaign strives to bolster university programming and equip students to become industry-leading professionals. Despite initially setting a goal of reaching $100 million by June 2025, the university reached this milestone more than a year before its anticipated end date.
I am thankful to the generous support of Indiana State University’s donors for their financial support and belief in the future of our university. These donations will play a fundamental role in advancing Indiana State in key areas such as student scholarships, experiential learning opportunities, faculty excellence, and Sycamore Athletics. I also thank our diligent University Advancement team for their hard work and momentous achievement of raising over $20 million four years in a row,” said Mike Godard, President of Indiana State University.
Over 6,700 donors contributed to the campaign last year, and 1,224 were President’s Society members who contributed at least $1,000 during the fiscal year.
Of the donors, 1,472 gave to Indiana State University for the first time, and 2,620 reside in the Wabash Valley. The local community contributed $2.4 million toward the campaign last year.
This past year also saw the creation of 21 new endowed funds for the university and $5.4 million raised for the university’s endowment.
In total, Indiana State University received 13,452 gifts from joyful givers across the nation and around the world in fiscal year 2024.
“Achievements such as reaching our goal of $100 million in record time would not be possible without the help of our donors, our community, and our hardworking team at the Foundation,” said Sam Shanks, chair of the Indiana State University Foundation Board of Directors and an ’85 graduate of Indiana State. “I sincerely congratulate everyone in playing such an instrumental role in the advancement of the Be So BOLD campaign and for their trailblazing efforts toward a continued culture of philanthropy on our campus.”
