As chief of staff, Snider is responsible for the efficient operation of the President’s Office, including budget analysis, scheduling and staffing.

He will help coordinate the university’s interim legislative efforts and, in concert with the president, will work with the interim director of the International Affairs Center to review and revise operating procedures, structure, strategic plans and goals and ensure that current commitments are fulfilled. He will also lead the university’s self-study, mission exploration and accreditation efforts and serve as liaison to the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

“I am very pleased to have Kevin serve in this expanded role that builds upon his current responsibilities in leading institutional strategic planning and measurement of effectiveness. Kevin has played a significant part in helping advance our new institutional identity and implementing key university initiatives,” said Lloyd W. Benjamin III, president of Indiana State University.

“In his new role, Kevin will take greater responsibility for directing the university self-study in preparation for the 2010 NCA accreditation visit as well as coordinating the internal planning and communication of the Cabinet.”

Prior to joining Indiana State in 1995, Snider served as a research analyst and as an adjunct professor at The American University in Washington, D.C. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from The American University as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international relations from San Francisco State University.
