Indiana State University’s Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and University Treasurer, Diann McKee, has announced her retirement on June 30, 2025, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary 38-year career in higher education administration.

Indiana State University’s Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration and University Treasurer, Diann McKee, has announced her retirement on June 30, 2025, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary 38-year career in higher education administration.
“It has been an honor to serve my alma mater, Indiana State University, for 38 years and to have contributed to the University’s success,” said McKee. “I am deeply grateful to have worked alongside many dedicated and talented colleagues. Together, we’ve made transformative investments and completed projects that benefit our students and faculty and strengthened Indiana State’s mission. I am also indebted to mentors who have supported me and provided counsel throughout my career. As I prepare for this next chapter, I will remain an advocate and supporter of this great institution and its mission.”
During her tenure, McKee has overseen significant advancements that have reshaped the campus and enhanced student experiences. Under her leadership, Indiana State has completed $550 million in new construction and renovations over the past 16 years. McKee has also been instrumental in fostering relationships with state and local governments to advocate for funding and support.
Some of her most notable accomplishments include:
- Planning and construction of a State-funded $66 million renovation for the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology, the largest capital project in university history.
- A $64 million renovation and addition to the College of Health and Human Services.
- Overseeing the $50 million renovation of Hulman Center to serve the University and local community.
- Renovation and restoration of the historic Normal Hall, built in 1910 as the Library for Indiana State Normal School, to house Student Advising and Student Success.
- A $15 million renovation of the Fine Arts Building and a $18 million state-funded renovation of Dreiser Hall.
- Renovations and upgrades to enhance the quality of all on-campus student housing and dining facilities.
- Coordination of a public-private partnership for 500 Wabash student housing.
- Development and facilitation of three Campus Master Plans.
- Eight consecutive years of International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACELA) accreditation for Indiana State University’s Office of Public Safety

McKee has served as Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration and University Treasurer since 2008. She manages critical areas such as finance, construction, facility operations, human resources, and public safety. Previously, she held various other positions in finance and budgeting at the university. She is a two-time graduate of Indiana State, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s in Public Administration.
In addition to her work with Indiana State, McKee has been active in the Wabash Valley community. She has previously served as a board member of the Union Health Foundation, Art Spaces, Swope Art Museum, Wabash Valley Goodwill, Terre Haute Human Relations Commission, and the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club. She also has served on the Vesty of St. Stephens Episcopal Church.
The search for McKee’s successor is already in progress. A search committee has been established, chaired by Dr. Nancy Rogers from University Engagement, with the following members: Dr. Susan Powers (Academic Affairs), Ms. Angie Lansing (Athletics), Mr. Jeff Jasco (Finance and Administration), Mr. Ardell Sanders (Student Affairs), Ms. Lucy Lunsford (Advancement), Ms. Donna Ring (Enrollment Management), and Mr. Mike Alley (Alumni and Community Member). To assist in identifying the next Vice President of Finance & Administration at Indiana State University, the University is collaborating with Mr. Ryan Crawford from WittKieffer Executive Search Firm. The search process will include finalist interviews in April 2025, with an anticipated start date for the selected candidate in July 2025.
