The West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center was recently honored by the State of Indiana for its outstanding impact in 2022.

The West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center was recently honored by the State of Indiana for its outstanding impact in 2022.

Regional Director Courtney Richey was recognized for helping West Central businesses acquire over $8 million in capital and for helping to create the most full-time jobs of any advisor within the state. In addition, Intentional Outreach Network Rural Business Advisor Dave Bittner was recognized for helping clients achieve over $4 million in capital during the first year of the program. The team was joined by David Watkins, Senior Vice President of Entrepreneurship & Small Business for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, and the Indiana SBA (Small Business Administration) District Director Stacey Poynter and Deputy District Director Martin Anderson.

"We are extremely proud of the impact Courtney Richey and her business advising team are having on local businesses," said Dr. Terry Daugherty, Dean of Scott College of Business at Indiana State University. "They work very hard to make a difference within the community and I am pleased to see their efforts recognized by the State of Indiana."

Said Richey: "We enjoy helping our clients thrive in business. This success stems from having an outstanding team and is in large part due to the support and infrastructure provided by Indiana State University."

The West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center in the Scott College of Business at Indiana State University supports small businesses throughout the Wabash Valley at no cost by providing confidential business advising and training. In conjunction with the State of Indiana and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the WCISBDC helps Hoosier entrepreneurs and small businesses start stronger, grow faster, and work smarter.
