Fall tour to 'March On!' in Fort Wayne, South Bend

Story Highlights

ISU will bring its 'March On" fall tour to northern Indiana Nov. 17-18.

Indiana State University will bring its "March On!" fall tour to Fort Wayne and South Bend Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 17-18).

President Dan Bradley is leading a delegation of university and ISU Foundation representatives on a six-city tour of Indiana to discuss Indiana State's new five-year strategic plan and the foundation's newly-launched comprehensive fundraising campaign. The tour also provides an opportunity for prospective students and parents to meet with admissions counselors to learn more about programs available and the college admission process.

The ISU strategic plan calls for a 15 percent increase in enrollment by 2014 as well as improved graduation rates. It also calls for moving some campus facilities to Terre Haute's planned "Riverscape" development and working with the foundation to diversify revenue in an effort to limit future tuition increases. Other goals include strengthening Indiana State's most distinctive programs, continuing to upgrade student housing and constructing a new "front door" campus entrance from U.S. 41.

ISU's strategic plan is online at http://www.indstate.edu/strategic_plan.

The foundation's first comprehensive fundraising campaign is intended to fund areas representing four pillars of the university: student support, teaching and faculty development, program support and facilities. "March On! The Campaign for Indiana State University" raised more than half of its $85 million goal by the time of its public launch Oct. 23 in conjunction with Indiana State's 89th Homecoming celebration. The campaign is scheduled to run through December 2011. Information about the campaign may be found at www.indstatefoundation.org/Marchon.

Tuesday's stop in Fort Wayne will include meetings by ISU administrators and staff with Russ Baker, interim chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College Northeast, and a free public reception from 5 - 7 p.m. at Sycamore Hills Country Club, 11836 Covington Rd.

Wednesday's visit to South Bend will include a free public reception from 5 - 7 p.m. at Century Center, 120 S. St. Joseph St. Alumni, prospective students and parents are especially encouraged to attend the receptions.

Additional stops on the "March On!" tour are scheduled for Dec. 4 in Lafayette and Dec. 6 in Merrillville. The tour previously visited Evansville and Jasper.
