Indiana State University has awarded the University Honors Scholarship to 31 outstanding freshmen set to begin their studies this fall.

The students chosen for these competitive scholarships demonstrated high levels of academic achievement throughout high school and during an on-campus interview process. Specifically, students are required to have at least two of the following: a cumulative GPA of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale, a score of 1200 on the SAT or 26 on the ACT and a ranking within the top 10 percent of their high school class.

"The University Honors Scholars are invariably among of the finest students enrolled at Indiana State University," said Greg Bierly, the executive director of the University Honors Program. "As the largest cohort of competitive scholarship recipients participating in the Honors curriculum, they are the core of the program's membership. Many of our strongest students academically, as well as the dedicated leaders of campus organizations, come from this class of scholars.
